James C. Herrmann is the President
of James C. Herrmann & Associates, Ltd., (JCH) a full service
insurance agency and brokerage with offices in Rockville Centre,
New York, Denver and Atlanta. Jim began his insurance career in
1986, specializing in healthcare professional liability, financial
services and environmental insurance. JCH is the endorsed provider
of environmental insurance for The Community Bankers Association
of New York State and has obtained National recognition as a leading
provider of Environmental Risk Management & Insurance Services
for commercial lending, mergers & acquisitions, the mining industry
and Brownfield redevelopment. Jim has been a speaker and participant
at both local and national meetings and conventions and was honored
to speak at the National Brownfields Summit at the U.S. Chamber
of Commerce in Washington, DC. Jim is a Past President of The Friends
of Mercy Medical Center, an Ex-Captain in the Rockville Centre Volunteer
Fire Department and has served on various charitable boards including
Mercy Medical Center, Our Lady of Consolation Nursing Home and The
RVC Friends of Senior Services. He is currently a member of The
Board of Trustees of the Long Island Power Authority, the State
University of New York College at Old Westbury Foundation, The Perfect
Health Insurance
Company and The Foundation of UCP of Nassau.
Anthony Gerrato:
"JCH" is proud to welcome Anthony G. Gerrato as Executive Vice
President and Partner. A distinguished insurance industry leader, known
for his extensive knowledge and his vast array of experience, Tony has
developed his multi-faceted insurance career to include Healthcare,
Construction and the creation of niche program business. He has built
Equipment Maintenance and Product Warranty programs, managed a
multi-line nursing home facility and brokered a wide variety of property
& casualty products and programs during his 20-year career.
In his private time, Tony is involved with numerous organizations that
support his passion for education and athletics. These organizations
include the Inner City Catholic School Scholarship Foundation, West
Islip High School Scholarship Program, Penn State University
Charitable Foundation & Mentoring Program and the Crohn’s & Colitis
Foundation where he serves on the Board of Directors. Tony also serves
as a Member on the Board of Directors for Kemark Financial Services
and has auctioneered over 40 charitable events, including the American
Cancer Society and CCFA.
Gene P. Devine,
Esq. joined JCH in 2001. Prior to JCH, Gene was a Vice
President and environmental specialty broker in the New York City
office of Marsh & McLennan where he managed numerous major accounts
including multiple site transactions, finite, and blended finite
insurance programs. For five years prior to joining Marsh, Gene
was a managing attorney in AIG's Environmental Claims Department
where he handled claims brought under Cost Cap and other environmental
policies. His technical experience as a field biologist and environmental
analyst for a local regulatory agency in New York round out his
understanding of environmental law and the issues surrounding regulatory
enforcement. He is responsible for JCHs manuscripted environmental
insurance policies and negotiating policy terms and conditions with
insurance carriers counsel. Gene is a member of the New York
State Bar Association's Environmental Law Section.
Michael E.
Herrmann, P.G. is a professional geologist with over
15 years of consulting experience in environmental site assessment
and remediation. Michael has provided the technical expertise required
to characterize the complicated environmental risks associated with
commercial property transactions and facilitated the marketing and
placement of comprehensive coverage to address our clients' unique
risks. Michael has been primarily involved in the design and marketing
of our reclamation and closure bonding program for the mining industry
and is our liaison to Federal, State and Local regulators regarding
financial assurance negotiation and placement.
Travis A. McManigal,
M.B.A. joined JCH as a Production Account Executive for
the environmental and general lines insurance groups. He began his
tenure within the insurance industry as an underwriter for AIG Environmental
and most recently worked for a national insurance broker based out
of Denver, Colorado. Travis specializes in working with banks and
lending institutions and their borrowing entities to review and
transfer environmental liabilities that may arise from lending and
owning Real Property.
Kathleen Moriarty
has been involved in the marketing and underwriting of environmental
insurance products since the 1980s when these products first
became available. With over twenty years commercial insurance experience,
Kathleen has specialized exclusively in environmental insurance
since 1988. Prior to joining JCH she was the Southeast Regional
Underwriting Manager for AIG Environmental where she was responsible
for the underwriting of Cost Cap policies as well as all other environmental
coverage. She specializes in commercial real estate transactions,
brownfield redevelopment, merger & acquisition transactions,
BRAC and DoD GFPR contracts and complex environmental insurance
programs. She developed two environmental insurance products currently
marketed by AIG Environmental and other insurers. Kathleen is a
certified instructor for the State of Georgia and North Carolina
in environmental insurance for agents licensing continuing
education credits. She also lectures at Georgia State University
and Georgia Tech on environmental insurance issues and products
and their role in brownfield redevelopment. She is a frequent guest
speaker at environmental conferences and forums.
Jim E. Hamilton
joined the Denver office of JCH Insurance with over 15 years of
Environmental Risk Management experience in the insurance brokerage
and claims mitigation business. Prior to joining JCH, Jim was the
Director of Marketing for Dispute Resolution Management, Inc. (DRM),
an international consulting firm that specializes in non-litigious
solutions for the settlement of complex, long-tail and latent insurance
claims, predominantly of the Environmental, Asbestos, Product Liability
or Insolvent Carrier nature. This included detailed insurance policy
archaeology, policy form review, interpretation of coverage, environmental
claim quantification and qualification, claim allocation to historical
coverage, settlement targeting and review/development of post-settlement
risk transfer options. Prior to joining DRM, Mr. Hamilton was an
environmental & complex commercial accounts insurance broker
and the founder and president of the environmental insurance and
risk management division of a leading US insurance brokerage firm.
Mr. Hamiltons past clients include numerous Fortune 500 and
TSE 100 companies, brownfield redevelopers, Superfund PRP groups,
TSD facilities and environmental engineering firms and contractors.
His familiarities with complex environmental and asbestos claim
settlements, as well as Governmental perspectives, environmental
risk and cost quantification, the remedial redevelopment business
and innovative risk transfer and structured finite programs provide
a breadth of experience to the JCH team.
